| Description: Ages 8-12 years This GymYouth class for girls is designed to develop skills focusing on the four events in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics: floor, beam, bars, and vault. Girls may be new to gymnastics or have prior experience and they generally enjoy practicing gymnastic routines as a supplement to other sports or for the joy of gymnastics movement. This class places focus on strength conditioning for mastering gymnastics skills. Training for each event allows girls to enhance strength, flexibility, and body awareness. While their skills level may be basic, girls in this class have the maturity and physical capability for learning skills at an accelerated rate compared to the beginner class. Skills include safe landings, forward, backward and log rolls, jumping, hanging, and balancing using our extensive collection of gymnastics equipment.
